Why does my order say "finalizing tax details"?

Why an order may say finalizing tax details and what to do.

Sometimes your order summary shows “finalizing tax details” instead of a tax amount. This is normal and it’s there to protect you.

What it means

Cigar taxes vary by state and can be detailed. When we need a moment to confirm the exact excise and sales tax for your order, we show “finalizing tax details” rather than guess. We won’t complete your order or charge you until the tax is confirmed, so you’re never overcharged or charged the wrong amount.

What to do

  • Give it a moment, it usually resolves on its own once your address and items are confirmed.

  • Make sure your “Ship to” state and shipping address are complete and correct. (See the article “Adding a shipping address.”)

  • If it persists, try again shortly, or reach out to us.

Will my order still go through?

Yes, once the tax is confirmed, checkout continues normally and the exact excise and sales tax appear in your total.

Still need help?

If your order stays in “finalizing tax details,” email [email protected] with the product and your destination state and we’ll sort it out.
